Tailmaters is a live-event social network where people can find concerts / events by artists / venue, connect with people attending an event and get tickets. Tailmaters app was intended to be an engaging “meetup” app centered around the passion to attend live music events with new and interesting people. For phase 1, client (who is an independent inventor) requested Codewave to holistically design the “Tailmaters” experience for music lovers, developing an Android app for users. Client already had an iOS app which also had to be realigned with the Android version.
Codewave designed and developed Tailmaters’s iOS app with features like below:
Discover People (find people who share common interests, find people by location and view user profile),
Discover Artists (find Artists followed by people you follow, find Artists by category and view Artist profile) and
Discover Events (see recommended Events /concerts based on people and artists you follow, find Events by category, location (near me), view Event details,
Book Tickets – Update event status like Going / Not Going / Going with extra tickets / Need tickets, see others attending the Event, Buy tickets
Chat with people – Find Tailmates with high match on reliability, compatibility, interests; connect and chat with them through the app
My Profile – My tailmates & ratings, My events (events I am attending, attended), My artists (artists I like, I’ve attended events of, I’m attending events of), My Notifications, Rate a Tailmate (based on Reliability and Compatibility), Other settings etc
Coming to the technology stack – we used MeteorJS for backend integration, moving away from the conventional API driver approach. MeteorJS enables swift data transfer to help render screens quickly and create a seamless user experience. Native iOS app is built using Swift programming language utilizing the MVVM design model. Facebook and Spotify APIs were leveraged to let users easily login with one click while the app syncs with all their favorite artists and music preferences. Intelligent backend algorithms further recommend People, Artists and Events to follow. Users also get to purchase concert tickets right off the app, supported by Seatgeek API.
“When we first engaged codewave to be our development partner for Chennai’s first two wheeler ride sharing app, we did so because of the enthusiasm of their team and some of the previous projects they had done for other customers. The highlights of our engagement with codewave can be summarised as follows:
